Odyssey Project

HIDA's Odyssey Project provides one-to-one or small group multi-sensory academic language therapy for qualified children and adults with dyslexia living in Hawai'i. The number of children and adults served through this program is dependent upon availability of funds and appropriately trained academic language therapists. HIDA is a non-profit organization that submits on-going grant proposals to fund The Odyssey Project. Fundraisers and individual donations are also used to subsidize the program.

Qualifications

There are two basic criteria to qualify for The Odyssey Project:

For children, financial need can be shown by submitting a copy of their approval letter to participate in the free or reduced school lunch program sponsored by the US Department of Agriculture. (Qualifying for this program is based on the income of the child's family.)

For adults and those children who don’t qualify for the free lunch program, a copy of the most recent pay stub/pay statement of the working adult(s) is required.
