JOURNEY INTO DYSLEXIA
January 30, 2012 (Monday)
6:30 - 8:30 PM
Trinity Christian School (875 Auloa Road, Kailua, Oahu)
Free Admission
HIDA is pleased to offer a showing of the acclaimed HBO movie, "Journey Into Dyslexia". HBO and Oscar®-winning filmmakers Alan and Susan Raymond, in partnership with the International Dyslexia Association, produced Journey Into Dyslexia, which debuted on HBO in May 2011. The film examines the complexities of the dyslexic brain − showing how it is structured differently − and debunks myths and misconceptions about dyslexia. The film-makers interview students and adults who share their struggles and methods of coping. The film reveals why many consider their dyslexia a unique gift and the reason behind their success.
The 70 minute film will be followed by an opportunity for conversation with other attendees and some of HIDA’s experts.
